Getting outside to play and explore is a cornerstone of the ILSC experience. It’s a chance to relax after class, and spend time with your new friends while practising English or French in the real world. Whatever your interests, there are activities to match – from rock climbing and baseball games to theatre, music festivals, and cultural tours. An ILSC staff member will be your guide, and the only costs are transportation and entry fees where required.
Activities change periodically and vary depending on the, location, season and weather. Check out our current and past activities calendars to see what activities are available at our Canadian locations year round.
Student Activities Waiver Form
In order to join in after-school and weekend activities at ILSC, all students must sign a Student Activities Waiver Form.(Adobe Acrobat is required to view and print this form.) Students under 19 years old must have their parents sign this form.Student Activities Waiver Form
After Class Activities
Our activities make the most of the four distinct Canadian seasons. Attend the school in the summer and take up bicycling, rollerblading, golfing, kayaking or learn how to salsa in the summer heat. Enjoy winter sports like tobogganing, skiing and skating or come in from the cold for indoor rock-climbing, movie nights, live basketball games and much more. Fresh air nature hikes are easily accessible all year round.
You pay only for your transportation and entrance fees. An ILSC teacher or Activities Coordinator is your guide.
Get out of town with ILSC! Explore Canada's vast urban and rural landscapes. The country offers camping, horseback riding, whitewater rafting and sky diving. Vancouver students can take the highway south to Seattle for sightseeing and shopping, or ferry to Victoria for British gardens and high tea at the world famous Empress Hotel.
Toronto students can take a day trip to Niagara Falls or join ILSC-Montreal students in Ottawa to experience the National Gallery and great walking tours. Not far from Montreal, Quebec City awaits with its French-Canadian culture, festivals and Old World charm.
Note About Trips to USA
If you plan to enter the USA while you are studying in Canada, you need a separate USA Visa. (Some ILSC weekend activities involve trips to the USA.) For most students this must be organized before you come to Canada. Students from Western European Countries & Japan do not have to arrange for a USA Visa in advance, as you can get one from USA Immigration at the border. Also, all passports must be valid for a minimum of 6 months and be machine readable.
Ongoing School Events
We are busy all year round bringing the ILSC community together with Christmas and Halloween parties, summer boat cruises and barbecues. Come share in the good times with new friends from the four corners of the globe.
