Testimonials: Teaching Young Learners Preparation
“I really liked TYLP because…”
"Learning about children is such a special thing! We could teach the children at the schools and learn English ourselves at the same time. This is only a chance that TYLP gives you. I found out that I am very interested in working with children."
Cynthia, Korea
"TYLP is different to any class I have taken. It was a delightful break from normal study and it helped to refresh me by going and working with the kids for a week. I really loved it!"

TYLP is an excellent course to learn different styles for teaching; you know what you can teach to children between 3 to 8 years old, using the four skills: reading, speaking, listening and writing. Also you learn many games and interesting activities that you can do in the class.
At the end of the course you have the opportunity to practice with kids and this is a good experience because you start to have a friendship with them. That is awesome! , the kids are very happy and they give you their happiness. And the teacher is very good!

First, I thought that TYLP was just a simple thing that to be a teacher is not too difficult but now I realize that there is more than just teach some new vocabulary. I needed to make things that I had never tried before and we always needed to do out best in the class. We had a practicum week and it is an experience that I will not forget for the rest of my life.

I really enjoyed taking TYLP class. This course was very educational. It was also helpful to practice teaching. You’ll have a lot of fun at the same time, during the practicum as well. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for work in the field.

"I could see the real education of Canada, and the teacher is really good. I also had to challenge myself to communicate with native speakers on my own. I did that and learned from the students too."

It was pretty awesome, During the TYLP class, I learned so many things through the teacher and classmates.
First, it was chance to figure out how can I teach the children as well. Second, It was so useful what I learned in class when I went to the practicum. Practicum,!!! It was amazing, we will never forget that experience forever. There were so lovely children and teachers. When I taught them, I could control children because I learned a variety of class management in the TYL class we need to learn about it. If we don't have any pre-knowledge, we will be embarrassed during the class. Third, I really really appreciate to Polly who had taught me whole things involved in TYL, even if it was for a month. At last, I am still teaching children in day-care center, I used to go to the practicum, as a volunteer.

TYLP was interesting because besides the fact that you don't have to talk about heavy topics like politics, you are always doing exciting things. This course shows that everything you've ever learned in the class was thoughtfully prepared and teaching is a hard work but you learn how to deal with this hard work. I leaned a lot and had lots of fun. I'm glad I chose this course.

I really enjoyed this course! I could learn many things about children but also about myself. It was very funny because sometimes you pretend to be a child. In the last week you can go to a elementary school. There you can make your own experience with children.

I strongly recommend to participate in the TYLP-course. In the first three weeks you learn in a very interesting and entertaining way how to teach young learners. You make lots of games and sing a lot of songs – sometimes you even feel as if you were 4 or 5 years old again. Then, in the final week of course you get the opportunity to work as a teacher assistant in a Canadian kindergarten or elementary school. In this internship you can practice what you’ve learned before.

TYLP was very interesting because you can learn different ways to teach children. I needed to create my own class of the practicum and went to a elementary school for the practicum, which was very interesting. I really liked TYLP class and the practicum.

I like TYLP because I learned many different ways to teach and also in my classroom were many people from many different countries and we could learn about their country too, and the way to teach. Also the teacher is very good! He has many different ideas and is very funny. And the most important thing is stay with the kids, they are so cute and energetic, I just love it and it was a very good experience for me.

How fantastic this course is! I learned what I had wanted. The program provided me with teaching methods in a fun and comfortable environment. I had some presentations, some exams and three week practicum in a elementary school, which were quite hard but so exciting. It was also very good experience for me to study with the fabulous classmate from different countries and the wonderful teacher. Thank you, everybody.

It was challenging because I had to prepare for a lot of presentation but was a very interesting course because students can do many kinds of activities such as singing, dancing, and playing games in the class. Classmates can be very friendly with each other. The most interesting things are that students can be a teacher in the class and also students can go to the school for children. This course was really helpful and interesting.
