ILSC Vancouver’s Green Leadership Project will be launching this summer. Last year, ILSC introduced a Green Leadership Class which gives students a chance to learn English through exploring environmental topics relevant on Canada’s West Coast and around the world. The Green Leadership Project will combine this interesting, informative class with experiential learning, as students participate in 2 environmentally themed afternoon activities, and 1 weekend activity per week. The Project is offered in a 4 week format, and each week will focus on a different green issue. Watch our new Green Leadership Project video to learn more about this unique program.

ILSC’s long anticipated GoGlobal Video is now up on our YouTube channel. The video features footage from students and staff at all of our 7 locations, all filmed with GoPro cameras to capture the ILSC experience from the first person perspective. Back in July, we launched our GoGlobal video contest and shortlisted 1 student and 1 staff member from each location out of our list of entrants. Congratulations to Branca from ILSC-San Francisco who won a GoPro camera to keep!
To celebrate the launch, we are currently running a GoGlobal photo contest to get students to share their ILSC experiences on Facebook, and Instagram. Students will have the opportunity to win 1 of 8 iPod shuffles, or even an iPad mini! More importantly, we’ll get to find out how students lives are being changed by their experiences studying at ILSC.
Check out the new photo contest on our website, and tune into our social media sites for more.

ILSC-Vancouver is launching a Green Leadership course this summer, which will give students the opportunity to explore environmental issues and advocacy. Students will challenge themselves to discuss and reflect on the environmental issues current on the North West Coast of Canada, as well as some of the pro-active policies put into place to maintain eco-diversity and build upon green initiatives. Students can also complement their study by participating in environmentally themed activities which will allow them to explore the local landscape and ecology, and get a better understanding of what many environmental advocacy groups are fighting to protect. Students can also participate in ILSC's Green Team, a collective of students, staff and teachers who volunteer to raise environmental awareness within the school.

ILSC is offering a new program designed for medical students and professionals who want to develop their medical English. Formerly offered at the Vancouver Medical English Institute, this very unique program was developed by an ESL instructor with a background in occupational therapy. Past graduates of the program have been able to share research and experiences with other professionals, present their work at medical conferences, teach Medical English in their home countries, and add a valuable new set of skills to their résumés. ILSC is excited to bring this specialized program to our Vancouver campus starting this March!
