 ILSC-Toronto now has another campus, conveniently located within 5 minutes - walk from the main campus. The modern two-floor space accommodates 300 students in 20 classrooms and includes a computer lab. Each floor also has an internet café, kitchen, fridge and 6 microwaves, as well as vending machines.  ILSC is offering a new program designed for medical students and professionals who want to develop their medical English. Formerly offered at the Vancouver Medical English Institute, this very unique program was developed by an ESL instructor with a background in occupational therapy. Past graduates of the program have been able to share research and experiences with other professionals, present their work at medical conferences, teach Medical English in their home countries, and add a valuable new set of skills to their résumés. ILSC is excited to bring this specialized program to our Vancouver campus starting this March!

 On Friday Nov 4th, ILSC New Delhi welcomed a visit from the Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway. The Minister was attending the ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the opening of ILSC New Delhi's newest campus which specializes in training teachers of English and educating students in English as a second language. The Minister was on a seven-day trade mission to India, which included a focus on educational partnerships between Canada and India. | ILSC-Toronto CN Tower Climb 2011
On October 22, 2011, 8 students and staff members from ILSC-Toronto and ISX Canada participated in the annual United Way CN Tower Climb. The team climbed up 1,776 steps (147 floors) in less than 30 minutes and raised $1234 for the United Way!

| ILSC is Interviewed for Global TV – The ESL Industry is Good for the BC Economy
Richard Novek, ILSC Vancouver's Director of Operations, was interviewed by Global TV for a news story on Friday October 7th about industries experiencing growth in the BC economy. The ESL education industry is one area that is experiencing significant growth, and with a recent announcement about a provincial initiative to bring more international students to BC, we expect this growth will continue. | ILSC-Toronto Fundraises in Support of East Africa.
Students, teachers and staff alike, joined together in effort to raise funds for Somalia. We kicked off their campaign selling Canadian Flags and ILSC-Toronto bracelets. Other events included a Farmer's Market/Bake Sale, Pop a Balloon for a Prize, and Pay to Play the Computer Day. Our final events took place on September 14th with a raffle and live 'Rock for Africa' concert at the school.
Together, we raised $1,324.00. ILSC-Toronto is matching this amount and in turn the Canadian Government for a total of $5,296.00. All proceeds will benefit Doctors Without Borders – East Africa Relief.

 Language Canada members are awarding over $430,000 in scholarships to support Japanese youth who were affected by the Tohoku earthquake in March, 2011 as part of the "Hope for Youth – Study in Canada Project." ILSC is one of 30 accredited language schools who will be offering scholarships to Japanese Students over the next year. | ILSC has received an update on the Red Cross efforts in Japan, and how our fundraising efforts are making a positive impact. With an estimated 500,000 people displaced by the earthquake and tsunami, the Red Cross is actively supporting people to deal with the variety of challenges they now face, and will continue to support communities during the rebuilding process.
